New OTT Releases This Week in India – How to Find Them Fast

5 October 2026 · 4 min read
New movies and web series land on Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar and more every week. Here's how to track this week's OTT releases in India on CouchMenu.

Every week a fresh batch of movies and web series drops on Indian streaming apps – some on Friday, some mid-week, a few at midnight with almost no warning. Keeping up by opening five different apps is tiring. This guide shows a simple routine for finding new OTT releases this week in under five minutes, whether you watch in Hindi, English or both.

We are deliberately not printing a fixed "this week" list here. Release line-ups change, dates get shifted, and a list written on Monday can be wrong by Friday. Instead, this page explains how to use the live, updated catalog on CouchMenu, which is refreshed several times a week.

Why "this week on OTT" lists go stale so quickly

Streaming release calendars in India move a lot. A film's digital premiere can be pushed by a week, a series may release region by region, and some titles arrive on a rental or "buy" tier first and only reach the regular subscription later. A static article cannot keep up with that.

On CouchMenu, the OTT releases page only counts a title as released once it is actually available to watch on a subscription or free plan in India. That way, "Out now" means you can press play today – not that it is merely announced.

Step 1: Start with the "Out now" tab

Open couchmenu.in and stay on Out now. This is the fastest answer to "naya kya aaya hai?" – what has just landed on your apps.

  • The newest arrivals sit at the top, so the first few rows usually cover the current week.
  • Each card shows the platform, language, genre and type (movie or series).
  • Where an official trailer is available, you can watch it right on the card before deciding.

If you only have ten minutes before dinner, scroll the first screen of Out now and you have already seen most of this week's big drops.

Step 2: Check "Upcoming" to plan the weekend

Switch to Upcoming to see what is scheduled to arrive soon. This is handy on a Wednesday or Thursday when you want to plan the weekend – or decide whether to wait for a new season instead of starting something else.

Keep in mind that upcoming dates come from platform announcements and can change. If a title slips, it simply moves on the list; once it goes live, it shifts to Out now.

Step 3: Filter by language, platform and genre

The filters are where CouchMenu saves the most time:

  • Language – pick Hindi, English, or regional languages. Many international titles also carry Hindi audio, which is shown where our data includes it.
  • Platform – only want what is on the apps you already pay for? Choose Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, SonyLIV, ZEE5 and others.
  • Genre – thriller, comedy, drama, horror, romance, action, animation and more.
  • Movies vs series – useful when you want a two-hour film tonight, not an eight-episode commitment.

Combine two filters – for example Hindi + Thriller or Prime Video + Series – and the list shrinks to something you can actually pick from.

Step 4: Search when you already know the title

Heard about a show from a friend or a WhatsApp group? Use search on the OTT page to see whether it is streaming in India yet, on which app, and whether it is listed as Out now or Upcoming.

Not in the mood for brand-new? Use the best-of lists

New is not always better. When nothing fresh appeals to you, the hand-checked CouchMenu lists are a better starting point:

These lists only include titles that are actually streaming in India, so you will not fall in love with something that turns out to be unavailable here.

A simple weekly routine

If you like a habit, try this:

  1. Monday or Tuesday – skim Out now for anything that dropped over the weekend.
  2. Thursday – check Upcoming and note what lands on Friday.
  3. Friday night – filter by your language and mood, watch a trailer or two, and press play.

That is it – no app-hopping, no endless scrolling.

Beyond OTT: TV and live sports

Some evenings the best thing to watch is not on a streaming app at all. CouchMenu also has a TV guide with tonight's prime-time schedule on popular Hindi entertainment, movie, news and sports channels, and a Sports page that tells you which channel and app is showing each match in India. We do not show live scores – just where to watch.
