Best Hindi Web Series on OTT in India – A Binge-Watching Guide

Hindi web series have become one of the best reasons to keep a streaming subscription in India. From small-town comedies to tense crime dramas and spy thrillers, there is a show for almost every mood – the hard part is choosing one that is worth eight or ten hours of your time.

This guide is not another numbered Top 10. Our ranked picks already live on the Best Hindi Web Series list. Here, we focus on how to find a Hindi series you will actually finish, plus a few well-loved shows that are streaming in India right now.

Start with your mood, not the hype

The quickest way to waste a weekend is to start whatever is trending and give up after two episodes. Before you open an app, ask yourself what kind of evening you want:

• Light and warm – slice-of-life comedies and family dramas with short episodes.
• Edge of the seat – crime, police procedurals and thrillers with cliffhanger endings.
• Big and intense – gangster sagas and dark dramas, often with mature content.
• Something different – animation, mythology, sports dramas or anthology-style stories.

Once you know the mood, pick the genre filter to match. On the CouchMenu OTT page, set the language to Hindi, choose Series, and add a genre – the list narrows down to shows that fit.

Light and feel-good

• Panchayat (Prime Video) – a gentle village comedy-drama, ideal when you want something warm and easy to binge.
• Gullak (SonyLIV) – a small-town family series built on everyday moments; short episodes make it great for weeknights.
• Kota Factory (Netflix) – a coaching-centre drama that many students and ex-students relate to.

Crime, thriller and drama

• Paatal Lok (Prime Video) – a dark, layered police drama for viewers who like slow-burn investigations.
• Delhi Crime (Netflix) – a grounded crime series centred on police work.
• Black Warrant (Netflix) – a prison drama with Hindi and English audio.
• Chamak (SonyLIV) – a moody, stylish Hindi crime drama.

Big action and spy stories

• The Family Man (Prime Video) – a spy thriller that balances action with family comedy.
• Mirzapur (Prime Video) – a violent gangster saga; strictly for adult viewers.

Something different

• The Legend of Hanuman (JioHotstar) – an animated mythological series, a good pick if you want a change from live-action.

How to binge smarter

A few habits make binge-watching more enjoyable:

• Watch the trailer first. Many CouchMenu cards include the official trailer, so you can check the tone before committing.
• Check the season count. If a show has several seasons, start from season one unless you know it is an anthology.
• Mind the age rating. Several popular Hindi crime and gangster shows are made for adult audiences – not ideal for family viewing.
• Use the audio menu. Some series offer Hindi and English audio or subtitles; switch to whatever is comfortable.
• Set a stop point. Decide "two episodes tonight" before you start. Autoplay is designed to keep you going.

Finding Hindi series on each app

Every app organises its shows differently, which makes browsing slow. CouchMenu puts them in one place, but if you prefer to look app by app, these lists are a good shortcut:

• Best on Netflix India
• Best on Prime Video India
• Best on JioHotstar

They mix movies and series in Hindi and English, so they also help when you are not sure whether you want a show or a film.

New seasons and upcoming shows

Returning seasons are often the most-awaited releases of the year. On the OTT page, the Upcoming tab lists titles that platforms have announced, and Out now shows what has arrived. Once a new season goes live, it appears in Out now – a simple way to catch it without following every announcement.

When you want a movie instead

Sometimes you do not have the energy for a full series. The Top 10 Hindi movies on OTT and best thriller movies on OTT in India lists are good one-night options, and the TV guide shows what is on Hindi channels tonight.
